Serena's chance to retain Wimbledon is over

The world's No 1 woman in Tennis, with 31 grand slams in both singles and doubles, lost to 23 year old, German professional, Sabine Lisicky.  She was the favorite to lift the SW19 tournament trophy this year, considering her recent form. Also, with the goal to equal Roger's record, most people already declared her the champ - until today.

Lisicki broke Serena twice to win the first set, and the 5-time Wimbledon champion came back to win the second set. However, the German finished off the game in the third set winning the game 6-2 1-6 6-4 in 2hrs 4mins.

Sabine Lisicki faces Kaia Kanepi in the Quarter Finals. Maybe the confidence gained in beating the world's No. 1 will just be the edge she needs to sail through to the Semi Final

This year's Wimbledon has seen shocking exists from Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova already. It's been a really unpredictable outcome, and now people hold on to Andy Murray for the men's title.
